Grazie alla pressione di atleti nazionali ed internazionali “standing” ed in carrozzina che hanno voluto dimostrare concretamente che uno sport integrato può esistere, siamo orgogliosi di poter comunicare che la “Gara Internazionale a Squadre mista di Spada Maschile” si svolgerà regolarmente.

Le nazioni che hanno fortemente voluto esserci e che si sfideranno il 17 maggio sul piazzale del Palazzetto dello Sport di Lonato del Garda sono:

We are proud to inform you that the “International Epée Relay Competition with mixed Teams” will take place regularly.

The Countries that have believed and wanted this new competition and that will be present in Lonato del Garda on 17 May, on Sport’s Centre Square, are:

Con la presente siamo purtroppo a comunicare che la “Gara Internazionale a Squadre mista di Spada Maschile” non potrà essere disputata.

Come sapete la crisi finanziaria ha colpito anche le aziende che avevano dato la loro disponibilità a partecipare economicamente a questa importante iniziativa socio/sportiva.

Le difficoltà e i costi fissi riferiti alle vendite di queste aziende sono sempre più gravosi, motivo per il quale hanno dovuto ritirare la loro disponibilità.

Per questo non siamo in grado di svolgere la competizione della “Gara Internazionale a Squadre mista di Spada Maschile” prevista per il giorno 17 maggio 2009.

Ci scusiamo pertanto con il movimento internazionale della scherma, e ci impegniamo comunque a portare avanti per il prossimo futuro sia la “Gara Internazionale a Squadre mista di Spada Maschile” che un circuito di Coppa del Mondo su 3 nazioni di competizione a Squadre mista.

Vi aspettiamo comunque alla “Lonato del Garda World Cup” prevista in Lonato del Garda nei gg. 15, 16 e 17 maggio 2009.

Herewith, we would like to inform you that unfortunately the “International Epee Relay Competition with mixed Teams” expected on may 17 won't take place.

As you probably know the financial crisis has also struck a lot of firms whose financial contribution was so great in this social and sporting event.

Difficulties in relation to fixed costs in terms of selling from this big firms are getting more and more burdensome. As a result they had to take back what they promised.

Therefore we are not able to organize such “International Epee Relay Competition with mixed Teams”.

We apologize to all the International. wheelchair Fencing Movement and we will strive to do our best in order to promote the next future's “International Epee Relay Competition with mixed Teams” around 3 different Countries as World Cup’s Circuit.

Nevertheless, we are looking forward to seeing you soon at Lonato del Garda World Cup which will be held in Lonato del Garda on the 15,16, and 17 of May.

Obiettivo di tale iniziativa è il vedere riconosciuto il valore sportivo in una competizione dove atleti praticanti la stessa disciplina sportiva possano competere, pur se ognuno nella propria categoria, nella stessa squadra.

Our objective is the recognition of the sporting spirit of a competition in which athletes that practise the same discipline can compete in the same team, though in different categories.

La nostra idea è che gli atleti normodotati combattano contro altri atleti normodotati e gli atleti in carrozzina contro altri atleti in carrozzina, ognuno con il suo regolamento e le proprie abilità, ma dove il punteggio ottenuto da ogni singolo atleta (normodotato e in carrozzina) venga sommato in quanto appartenenti allo stesso team.

Our idea is that able bodied athletes compete against other able bodied athletes and wheelchair athletes against other wheelchair athletes, each with his rules and ability, and the final score obtained by each single athlete be added together, as the fencers belong to the same team.

Ogni team dovrà essere composto da due schermidori normodotati e due in carrozzina appartenenti alla stessa nazione. Il numero dei team per nazione è illimitato. Il team può essere composto da atleti appartenenti sia allo stesso Club che a Club diversi purché appartenenti alla stessa Nazione.

Each team should be made up of two able bodied fencers and two wheelchair fencers belonging to the same Nation. The number of teams per Nation is unlimited. The team can be made up of athletes belonging both to the same Club and to different Clubs, on condition that they belong to the same Nation.

La formula di Gara:

Prova a squadre a staffetta al meglio delle 20 stoccate.

Tireranno alternativamente lo spadista in carrozzina e quello normodotato su pedane appaiate, secondo norme in uso.

Risulterà vincente la squadra che perverrà per prima alle 20 stoccate o che risulterà in vantaggio al termine del tempo regolamentare.

Formula di gara: eliminazione diretta senza ripescaggio dall’inizio (accoppiamento delle squadre secondo ranking predeterminato).

Competition Formula:

Relay teams competition.

The wheelchair fencer and the able bodied fencer will alternatively fence on near pistes, according to current regulations.

The first team that reaches 20 hits or leads at the end of the prescribed time, will be the winning team.

Competition Formula: direct elimination without repechage since the beginning (matching teams according to the ranking).

A della competizione Torneo Internazionale del Garda World Cup che si è svolta in Lonato nei gg. 23 - 24 - 25 maggio 2008 ed il primo atleta maschio e femmina italiani presenti sulla Ranking internazionale (Totale n. 4+4 atleti).

They will be invited the 2 first male athletes and the 2 first female athletes in the top 4 of the International Ranking on 30 September 2008, the winners of epée cat. A (M/W) of the International Garda Wheelchair Fencing Tournament that will take place in Lonato on 23, 24 and 25 May 2008 and the first Italian athlete of the International Ranking (total 4 + 4 athletes).
